In this section, we will discuss the procedure to root Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 on Gingerbread XXKPE 2.3.4. Rooting is a procedure that allows a user to enjoy the benefit of the custom ROMs and removes the restrictions set by the providers.
Caution: The procedure described below is only applicable for Samsung Galaxy SL I9003. If someone tries to implement that on any, similar or different phone then problems will arise for sure. Moreover, rooting will blow away the warranty-cover.
Pre-root instructions:
Following points must be considered before the rooting Samsung Galaxy SL I9003:
- If the user has not updated Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 to firmware to XXKPE then update it before proceeding any further.
- Crete a proper backup of data present on your phone. If you fail to do so then there is a possibility that you might lose your data forever.
- All the content in internal memory will be washed-out so users must write down the important settings such as APN to reconfigure phone.
- Remove SIM card and SD card from phone in order to prevent any sort of accidental deletion of data present on them.
- Ensure that at least 60% of the phone battery is left. If not, then charge the battery before involving in the rooting process.
- Re-ensure that backup is place at a safe location and in correct format.
Procedure:
The procedure has been discussed via following points:
- Download XXKPE Rooting Zip Package on your PC/Laptop
- Extract the content of zip file to a separate folder on PC.
- Switch-off Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 and then set it to download mode. (press Volume Down key + the Home key)
- Visit the newly extracted folder and run odin.exe
- Now connect phone with help of a USB cord and wait will ID:COM box turns yellow
- The selections will be as follows:
- Auto-reboot selected
- PDA selected and set to CF-ROOT – I9003 – Beta.tar
- F.reset time selected
- Click start to begin rooting and wait until it completes.
Rooting is a critical process and it must be done with maximum care. Do not remove / disconnect the phone or it may brick forever.
