Update Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 to ZCKH2 Gingerbread 2.3.4 Firmware {How to}

Good news for the galaxy S2 GT I9100 users, Samsung has finally revealed the updated version of ZCKH2 Gingerbread 2.3.4 which was long awaited. The update is only rolled out for the Singapore users, so I request you to proceed only if you are from the Singapore region.

There are some pre-requisites before the process of ZCKH2 gingerbread update: -

  • First thing you should know that the contacts and messages in your phone will be lost, so you must make a back up and restored them. Data like videos, music, pictures and audios can be moved in to the internal/external memory card so that it will be safe over there. You can see here to see how to back up
  • You also need to save your APN settings and MMS settings which helps to access internet.
  • Your device must have more than 90% of battery backup so that it may not interrupt while updating the software.
  • Make sure that your pc has a minimum USB 2.0 enabled USB ports because now ODIN only supports Windows based OS and doesn’t support Linux or MAC/Apple.

Steps to update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 to ZCKH2 Gingerbread 2.3.4 Firmware

  • First you have to download the ZCKH2 Gingerbread 2.3.4 zip file in your pc. After downloading, unzip the file to get Odin and firmware tool.
  • After unzip open the Odin flash tool in your pc and turn off the phone so that you can enter into Download mode.
  • To enter into Download mode you need to press Volume down key + Ok button and along with both the keys press the power button.
  • After entering into the download mode, you have to connect your device to your pc through USB cable.
  • Once you connect the device to your pc, the ID:COM block in the odin will turn into yellow which means all the drivers have been successfully installed.
  • Now select the files in the odin flash tool and click on the start button, it will take upto 10 or 12 minutes to update the firmware.
  • Once the update completes, your device will reboot on its own, and then you need to enter the language preference and Google account preferences.
  • Now you have to enter in recovery mode to clear all the cache files. You can enter the recovery mode by pressing Volume UP key +Ok button and along with both press the power button.
  • You can see much option now but you have to choose Wipe data/factory reset and need to Wipe Cache partition after which you have to reboot the device by selecting reboot system now.

You have now successfully updated the latest version on Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 which is ZCKH2 Gingerbread 2.3.4 Firmware .
