Here you will learn how to unlock the device bootloader and root your own Galaxy Nexus, and need to relock its bootloader as well as return it into its factory condition. Yes this may be done when you follow the instructions below to be able to perform all these things into your new Galaxy Nexus. The awesome Android Team must be thanked we can have several factory images which must not fix only the soft-bricked or boot looping device but certainly will make your own device like it has been pulled out of its new box.
Steps to follow:
- You must download factory images Android 4.0.2 into your Personal computer.
- Then unzip that file and all its contents on to your own SDK/Folder tools (where your fastboot.exe file and adb.exe are).
- But ensure that these are not yet in their own tools folder, and so have been all extracted at the Tools.
- And along your own Tools folder, you must open the command instructions (Shift+ right click – ‘open the command prompt here’).
- Then just type this following commands, thereby allowing each one to finish prior to moving into the next step:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-toro-primekk15.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-toro-i515.ek02.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio-cdma radio-cdma-toro-i515.ek05.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-mysid-icl53f.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot oem lock
- Then you need to reboot your own phone by just highlighting ‘Start’ and then click its lock’s switch.
- This is really quite as simple and easy as this. Your phone has now returned to the 100% stock, as original, as locked and has its unrooted condition.
You can now have the use of your device just like before you have rooted it. Just enjoy its use as this return to its original state!
All the credit must go to DroidLife for all the fine write up. This is just for the version VZW of this Galaxy Nexus.
