Unoffical update for Verizon Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.4 Available

This looks like one of the Forum members at Android Central got the Notification for update  Android 4.0.4 now and he was made to pull this file out then upload this for everybody to play with. And to flash this update you must have to fully stack along the stock recovery to install this as it is. The update will be only for this Galaxy Nexus of Verizon, then when you flash this in your Nexus GSM then if you brick this, it will not be our fault as we had warned you!

Prerequisites:

  1. First you must need the Galaxy Nexus Verizon so as to update into the 4.0.4 Android version (for updates on Nexus GSM this method also work also).
  2. Then you must have the Android SDK to be installed. Note this path.
  3. Also you need the fastboot (Mac/Windows)
  4. Then you have to unlock this bootloader
  5. Then download this unofficial update on Android 4.0.4
  6. Finally you need to download the new ClockWorkMod recovery image from here.

Instructions:

  1. Just copy this OTA package just above the folder of the sd card in your own Galaxy Nexus.
  2. Then drop this ClockworkMod file at the similar folder that you have fastbooted in your own computer at the folder SDK (either platform tools or tools). Then you must rename this to cwm.img so as to create things easier.
  3. You then reboot your own Galaxy Nexus onto the bootloader mode (hold volume down and volume-up and then click Power).
  4. You must now plug your own phone in your computer, so then open this terminal or command prompt. Then you need to navigate into the folder having fastboot as well as this cwm.img inside this.
  5. And at a command line, just type these- fastboot-windows.exe boot cwm.img (or the fastboot.exe when that is what you have got).
  6. Then use this Recovery menu Clockwork Mod to flash the zip file along this SD Card,  then select its zip file OTA you have downloaded earlier.
  7. Just let things will run their own course

Now, you now have the 4.0.4 Android in your on Galaxy Nexus Verizon. This seems as if there are lots of steps. However when you have got the hang of this and know as well as understand these things about booting into the ClockworkMod recovery and not flashing this into your own phone first, then you are in the good way to go.

When you see some changes on this build please inform us at the comments. There has not been any change log found on this.
