How to back up Android device data before firmware update

Whatever the android model you are using, there are firmware updates always which keep your android device up-to-date. People use it, enjoy it, save data and contacts in it or may be any other information in android device. Updating your android device with firmware will lose every single data stored in your device So It’s very important to back up that data in your android mobile before you update your device with any firmware. You can back up your android mobile data in your pc or in your device SD card. We will discuss both the methods here:-

First method: – Back up data in PC

  • First thing you need to do is to restore your data and restart your device. There are lots of applications which can help you to back up android device data in your pc. You can get any of the application or software from android market or anywhere else.
  • Whichever software you have chosen sync it with your mobile with the help of usb cable.
  • If the device sync successfully you can see all your data in your computer available in your sd card and then you can save it.

So that means you have to first restore your data in device sd card, let’s see how to do it.

Second Method: – Save data in Mobile SD card

You can get various applications to back up your data here

  • To back up Text messages you can use SMS Backup & Restore app,
  • To back up  Phone Contacts you can use– Sync with the Gmail application,
  • To back up Call Log you can use - Call Log and Restore
  • To back up pictures, Music, Videos and Files etc, you have to move them simply to sd card by clicking the settings in your device.
  • To back up Internet & MMS Settings Go to Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

That’s all ! Your android device data can be easily backed up with the above detailed procedure.
