Keep Root after OTA Update with Voodoo OTA RootKeeper

The one concern which the rooted users will continue to bring up every time a new update OTA is in the horizon, that is whether or not this will break root.  And so that you will know, almost all of the updates break root and this question has already been sort of a joke in this point. However or those users that are worried still, we will want you to turn in to the application named Voodoo OTA RootKeeper  .

This application creates the ‘protected backup’ in your own phone’s root which may be restored just after the update on your own phone. And so the next time that your phone will prompt you just to update, ensure to load up the RootKeeper, create the backup root, then you apply the update and then restore the root.

The Rootkeeper may perform also the ‘temporary un-root’ that is like the spoofing your own system into the thinking that this is not rooted any longer. You have known how applications like this Google Videos will block you along watching something when you are rooted? So this will be a way just around that. The developer does not encourage you to use this for the reason but for the purposes of ‘development’ instead.

Several Nexus devices and Honeycomb tablets must be supported by this. When you thumb through the comments in the market listing, then you may find many more but must include some of the Motorola devices such s the Atrix and Droid 3.Primarily, the device who has the updates OTA does not format your own/system partition, must be supported.  And even the Rezound is supported also. And since this is free, why not try this shot?

The Requirement:

  • /partition system such as the Ext 4, ext 3 or Ext 2
  • Upgrades not the overwriting or formatting completely the partition system.

The typical System wherein this is effective perfectly:

  • Galaxy Nexus
  • Nexus S
  • And all Honeycomb tablets

The Typical system wherein the protection will not work:

  • Samsung Galaxy Spica
  • HTC Desire
  • Samsung S, S2
