Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus – unlock the bootloader- Video

Great News and to be excited about by every person who loves Verizon phones!

The Galaxy Nexus Samsung finally released at US after so much waiting and many advertisements and is already available for everybody for purchase right from Verizon.  Many reasons for many to like this device, however one of its excellent incentives is that the Nexus phone can be widely known to possess more open eco-system, which means that it will be easier to get unlock its bootloader.

This Galaxy Nexus Samsung is really something different though. This arrives with the Ice Cream Sandwich the most innovative updates this Android Operating system has ever received. The Android 4.0 and even CyanogenMod team have much to get excited for and it has been mentioned that all the extra features have already been taken out of the custom ROM now that the Ice Cream Sandwich will be integrating them. This will result in their users are not considering installing the custom ROMs in their devices but instead will favor the ICS Users Interface of the Stock.

One of its many advantages that you will get when you follow the developer’s community is that their updates come out very much faster however this will not be a problem with the Nexus device. And they are the first one to get updated. And also at the same time many users may like the great extra juice which developers wonderfully add into their device.

Many are already starting thinking this full bootloader unlocking method. This Nexus device’s bootloader will not want to be taken for granted or hacked just like the way some other phones are done. It is the manufacturer device that can be created to be open. You may unlock this Galaxy Nexus within some minutes when all the right tools are at hand.

Unlocking its bootloader will permit you to start jumbling with your own smartphone as you like (flashing custom ROM and kernels, rooting etc.) These are very easy to do with this Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Check the Droid Life’s video out to find how to do the unlocking of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus bootloader. Will you also unlock your device’s bootloader to play around or will you have to stick with its stock this time around?  Installing custom ROM is necessary with the Ice Cream Sandwich that is present on your device and updates that will come in a timely fashion or not.

Some friends from the Droid-Life have provided a video that will demonstrate how this will be done, and detailed steps guide. This process is very simple, and its bulk of its process is setting up the ADK, SDK and drivers.

In order to be prepared, there is the set of instructions which must cover the entire process.

To have you prepared there is the set of good instructions which must cover this whole method. The right trick is to have this SDK Android installed as well as to make it recognize your phone via adb. When you have finished that, you must be able to have your device unlock having two commands that are simple and then quick press volume on the phone.

Unlocking its bootloader will wipe your Galaxy Nexus phone clean, and so this will take care of this step from the let-go and not have to start all over again in your device down the road. When your device is unlocked, then you will not have to worry that you will be unlocking it again ever.

And so get your own Windows computer to be set up for the adb via the SDK. When you will get your device to reboot into the bootloader with typing this ‘adb reboot bootloader’ then you are now ready and all set to proceed.  Your Android phone must work just great in making this set up.

Instructions-Steps on how to unlock the bootloader of Samsung Galaxy Nexus:

  • Windows only and you must have to install the Samsung driver.
  • Get the SDK Android properly set up, which is the most important step for this. (instructions)
  • This may be just one of those hard things to have set up, but you can never move forward without this adb and SDK set up as well as working too. Instructions linked must get you to set up. When this SDK is already installed move on in to step 2.
  • Put the file fastboot.exe on your Tools/SDK folder (or Tools-Platform) when this is not present already there (like the adb.exe file)
  • You have to move AdbWinApidll in a similar folder as adb.exe then the fastboot.exe when you run into problems. It is believed in the newest SDK that all things default to Platform/SDK-Tools and not the Tools/SDK/. It depends in the version being used. The right thing is to have adb.exe, fastboot.exe, then AdsbWinApi.dll at the similar folder.
  • Turn the USB debugging on in your device.

Settings<Developer options<USB debugging

  • Then plug your own device into the computer.
  • In your computer proceed to your own folder SDK/Tools or the place where the files adb.exe and the fastboot.exe are.
  • Just hold SHIFT then right press-Select ‘Open the command window here’.
  • And then type this command:
 adb reboot bootloader
  • Then your device must turn off then reboot into the bootloader.
  • Type this command:
fastboot oem unlock
  • Then your phone will ask whether you like to unlock.
  • With the use of its volume keys, just highlight ‘yes’ then click its power button in order to choose it. And now your phone’s bootloader will then unlock.
  • Select to begin your phone and this will have factory reset then reboot. When rebooting, DO NOT PULL BATTERY. Your device may loop however when the battery is pulled this will brick your phone and will need to flash factory images to reset it.  Or you must have to wait for a while because this is factory resetting at this first boot.
  • Then you are operating now with the Galaxy Nexus unlocked.
