Updating Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo with 2.3.4 Gingerbread Firmware

If you have recently brought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo then it will be the best idea to update the Android OS of the phone for a better performance. You can update the phone with 2.3.4 Gingerbread which will make the phone a more stable with usability. Let me tell you how to do that.Things to do before updating

  • You must have many important files and contacts in Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo. Backing them up before updating is important. Use the Google sync to back up your contact list with Google server.

The procedure

  • First of all you need to download Sony Ericsson Flash Tool and Gingerbread 2.3.4 update File from the internet to your computer. First, install the flash tool as you need it to update your Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo. Extract all the OS files on your desktop too.
  • Run the X10Flash Tool file from where you have installed the Sony Ericsson Flash Tool. If you don’t find the file then use search tool to find it.
  • You will find a file named MT15i_4.0.1.A.0.283_Global.ftf from the extracted OS files. Copy this file to the firmwares folder which you will find in the flash tool’s folder.
  • Now when the flash file is open, locate the OS file that you need to update the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo. You will see that the file will be loaded to the flash window.
  • Connect your Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo to the computer by using the USB cable of the phone. Once the phone is connected, the update process will start automatically. If any option comes then just accept everything.
  • When the update process is completed, your Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo will restart. The phone may take some time for the first boot after the update. Once the phone is started, clear the caches of the last OS.
