How to Prepare for the Ice Cream Sandwich update

The Ice Cream Sandwich will be coming very soon on to the Android phone!

New tablets and phones with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich are now just around some corner so that the carriers are announcing already which newest versions will be updated, and it will be coming in early in 2012. Several of these new updates and features will be excellent for the business users.

Prior to updating, there are things that must be done to prepare and that you must think about to create its transition in to the Ice Cream Sandwich that will be safe as well as painlessly.

Updates System

When updating the OS on any of the device then it is the procedure with huge opportunities for some failure:

  •  The update’s download may be corrupted which will result in the update being a failure.
  • The upgrade process may be the cause to discontinue by networking, disk problems or power loss making your device useless.
  • That the upgrade may contain bugs which will make your device useless then can result to data corruption or loss.

When any of these things happen then you have your device wiped and begin from scratch, so that will result to the loss of business data and delays in the work being finished. If the possibility of issues destroying your day is small, then you may take these steps to decrease the destruction and making it easier for you to recover from this and maybe prevent some problems in the beginning.

1.Your Applications must be cleaned up

The best way to begin is by having a look at your latest setup. We will see many related non business applications that are forgotten soon after its installation. Proceed to Applications, Settings, remove any of the apps and Manage Apps that you are not already using or do not need. This may not only decrease the possibility of incompatibility, but free up also some more space for the upgrade and some future applications that you may like to include.

2.Your Applications must be Updated

When you do not like your applications to automatically update then you must run manually the application Android Market and then use the setting ‘My Apps’ to verify the updates, particularly the critical mission applications.  These applications are often updated in quick response to the announced bugs brought about by the latest version of the OS. When you have these updates first installed will help in the elimination of the potential problems along the way.

3.Your applications must be back up

The App Store Google will always remember the applications you have Installed or purchased for free and thus will permit you to again install them (find Apps, My Library at Android Market) however it does not have an updated list of the applications newly installed. And for this, just use the application such as the AppBrain that works well with the associate website in order to keep track of all the installation activity of your application, and may save the list of the applications having it easier for you to restore them quickly when the need will arise.

4. Your data must be backed up

You must have backups of your business data always. Many of your own data such as the calendar entries, contacts, and email are backed up automatically in to the cloud. The other data especially those from the third party applications cannot be lost and can be lost when your update turn bad. Check out your applications for the options to sync in to the cloud then export in to your own SD card. And then back up your own SD Card in to the computer.

5. Have your device happy

If your update day comes, then make your own device as comfortable soon enough. And be very sure that the battery is well charged, so then keep your device plugged in at the update in order to avoid some interruption that may be caused by power interruption. Enable the Wi-Fi then be connected into the network in order that any attempts to by its Operating System to register, ‘phone home’ or to finish the procedure are always possible.

The above preparation must be done before the installation of the Ice Cream Sandwich into your own Android device. While waiting for the update you must be very sure that you are prepared for it!
