Luckily Ideos X5 does not fall in the category where good things come to an end. Developers at XDA are doing their best to add features, apps, themes, and most importantly running a newer OS on unsupported by manufacturer.By saying this, if you are a Ideos X5 owner, today is the lucky day for you because XDA recognized developer managed to get this tab to run ICS.

The ICS port is all new but developer has done many revisions to it in matter of 10 days, which is obviously the kind of work we all loved, appreciate and expected from this developer. As of now, the port is working fine with no bugs except a slow GPS start up and UI is working well but still in its preliminary stages so can expect bugs and reboots., but everything else is working smoothly and up-to speed.

Before updating Huawei Ideos X5 with Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3, you should take some precautions and neither Androidxpert nor the developer will be responsible for any damage happen to your device.

Pre-requisites:-

1. Make a back up of your all data such as music, Videos, messages, contacts and everything else stored in your phone memory. You can back up your data by following our guide on how-to-back-up-android-device-data-before-firmware-update.
2. Ensure that your device have at-least 75% of battery life so that it will not interrupt you during the process.
3. Make it sure that you have disabled  the Security Suites, Firewall Tools along with the PC tools as these software’s can interrupt your updating process.

Steps on Update Huawei Ideos X5 with Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3:

1. In order to update Huawei Ideos X5, you have to upgrade your device to official gingerbread firmware and install clock work mod recovery on your device.
2. Download the zip file to update ICS on Huawei Ideos X5.
3. Now you have to enter in recovery mode or clockwork mod recovery by pressing Volume up + Power+home button together.
4. Then Select Wipe cache and then select dalvik cache. Once all the cache is wiped come to the main menu and select  install zip from SD card and then wait for the file to install.
5. Once it is done reboot your device .

That’s it, your Huawei Ideos X5 is now running on ICS 4.0.

There is a special note for Users in Finland and Saunalahti , you need to change some settings for the Sim Card , for that you have to download a terminal program such as connectbot and open a local session,and then type:
