Update Transformer Prime TF101 with Rooted Stock ICS ROM – How to

Once again, there is a good news for all the Transformer prime owners. Asus has started rolling out the FOTA update for the Transformer Prime TW versions of pad and announced that the update will roll out also in US and WW.

As promise earlier Asus has kept his promise and finally released the most awaited 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich Stock Rom for TF101. As we were hoping that after this update users will not lose their root, now it seems like our prayers were heard and we should thanks to the xda member MrNago. As we know, FOTA updates do not work on the rooted device with custom Rom’s on the devices. The only way to get this rom on your transformer prime is to either unroot your device or getting back to stock build for which you obviously need a lot of time, as chef either remove the functionality and simply disable it or prevent from running.

But by the MrNago Grace, you’ll not have to do any of the above, because MrNago has provided the Flashable Rom through CWM recovery. All you have to do is just go into recovery, wipe out everything, flash your device and you are done. The only bug to be noted which some of the users have reported that USB to PC is not working, so you will not be able to connect it through ADB. And one more thing that if your device is ‘G’ version, Do Not Flash This. Asus has claimed that they are still working hard on the updates for the few models in between (TF101G and Slider). Flashing this Rom on your TF101G device will get you more and more reboots which may be force you to roll back everything.

It is advisable to flash it carefully and enjoy your First ICS Stock Rom on your Transformer prime TF101. You are welcomed to leave any comments regarding the success and failures about the Rom, so that new build can be made after fixing the bugs. Head over to the original xda developer thread for download links.
