This Motorola Droid X2 is the toughest nut to break, but there has been a breakthrough on its custom ROMs. This XDA user dragonzkiller has finally brought CM7.2 into the handset which gave users headaches on its locked bootloader. This ROM is fully featured almost as well.

  • Browser Mode that is incognito
  • Equalizer DSP
  • Toggles Pulled down into fully customized
  • Customization of its Lockscreen
  • Gestures Lockscreen
  • Pulled Down Toggles fully customized
  • Notifications swipe away

Steps to Install this CM7 (CyanogenMod) on the X2 Motorola Droid

Please take note this that with all the ROMs, that you also have the possibility of just bricking your own phone. Just use caution and Dragonzkiller are NOT responsible for all the things that you select to perform with your own phone.

You must be in the Gingerbread 2.3.4!  And that this is the version only that you must support!  There is an implementation method to be able to check out the version to install, so you will know. Remember that this is just an Alpha build. This means that there will be some more problems! But please let us know when you will run into these issues to be able to solve them.

Now, let us go into the most important things. This must be all done in order!

  1. Backup NANDROID
  2. SBF into 2.3.4 not unless you are there already. There are various guides that are just out there which will help you walk in through ways to perform this when you do not know just how.
  3. Then root with the zergRUSH. Again, some good guides are all out there.
  4. And install the Bootstrap Recovery DROID X2 Original Motorola (but not this patched one from the CM7). Guide
  5. Then put both of these zips in your own sdcard
  6. Then boot into the Recovery Bootstrap
  7. And install CM7 zip
  8. Install also this Hijack patch zip.
  9. And then this Google Applications Zip
  10. Important!-Cache and Wipe data (reset factory) and then wipe dalvikcache!
  11.  Just sit back then enjoy CM7 in your DX 2
  12.  And never use ROM Manger (this is included, but that is the CM7 thing)
  13.  Finally do not delete anything along Preinstall! This hijack must require files that are in there which are installed with BSR. We do not know the reason why the non -development will be just messing with these files any way.

NOTE: In case you have a hang up on this M just after this Google Apps zip is then flashed and you must not have followed these steps .However you will not have gotten into the SBF. Then you try getting into the stock recovery then by just having the phone off, press the Volume down then these buttons Power until this ‘Fastboot’ has appeared in your screen, then scroll Down and until there is an “Android Recovery’ and then press its Volume up. And you will see then an Android having the exclamation point. Just press Both Volume buttons and just scroll down then into the ‘Wipe Data’. Click the power button so to select this and scroll down into ‘Yes’ and choose that, Then you must reboot and have to WAIT! This initial boot really will take the longest time. If this does not work still, so then SBF and just follow exactly these directions above.

USE RECOVERY HAVING CM7 And then Patching the Alpha:

To be able to get on to the recovery having CM7 DX2 you must absolutely download this patched BSR APK found on the section download and its patch CM7DX2! And there was some problem regarding the binary called conflicts which were tested and patched. Do not ever install its original even while in the CWM7.

There are some fixed issues and some features which are currently disabled, to know them head over to XDA
