Install WP7-Style Multitasking in Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S – How to

Just a few days we brought you the news of Windows 8 Metro UI goodies ported to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. While the manufacturers just want their OS only to limited devices, at the same time developers out there are trying to make every possible thing available for Android Users. Porting Windows 8 Metro UI on Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is not the first thing that has made its way onto Android

And when it comes to the most popular device by Google – Galaxy Nexus, hundreds of developers are working to make the device more customizable and functional. While the Metro UI was primarily based on Windows 8, Galaxy nexus users are now able to get some Windows Phone 7 style Multi tasking on their devices. XDA Senior Member mohitrocks has created a great intelligent workaround y posting a method that was primarily developed by XDA Senior Member evilisto. The mod is also working on Samsung Nexus S as well.

The mod will install WP7 style multi tasking in your Galaxy Nexus Device and gives you the UI look and feel of WP7. Users are giving the positive feedback about the mod and the UI looks, so if there are some bugs that can be ignored. Users can also grab SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk files separately or a flashable update.zip which is easily and quickly installable.

Galaxy Nexus users can find the download link and screenshots at mohitorocks’s thread. And those who carry Nexus S can check out more information at evilisto’s thread. Don’t forget to make a backup in case anything goes awry.
