First, consider the USB options

At the plug in of the USB cable to link your phone and PC, you will be given 4 options.

  1. The first option is that you can select charge the phone option if you are running low of battery and need to charge it up.
  2. The second is data sync up. What this option gives you is the ability to access some software that is on your PC and use it to update your phone. Maybe you can also install some apps from your PC to your phone using this option.
  3. The third is disk drive. This is the most interesting option. Your Android phone is the external hard drive you have never known. Your phone has an SD card of desired capacity. You can save important files on this SD and avoid the hassle of having to walk around with a USB flash or external hard drive. You can choose to have several of these SD cards so that you simply swap them depending on which files you need to access. The beauty of this is that the SD cards are now very affordable.
  4. The fourth option is USB tethering. This option means that your Android phone can actually be used as a modem to access the internet. With Android, you do not need any extra or special software to access the net via your phone whose 3G speed make it even better for you.

Why disk drive option is best

Unlike other phones, Android phones are popular for the fact that they allow storage of data into SD cards that can be easily transferred to other devices and phones. It is not easy to corrupt the information stored on the SD card and you wouldn’t need to plug in to access it, you can simply take off the card and slot it in where you wish to get the data and you will have it. Therefore, your Android phone is a great external storage tool that you can count on.
