Update Samsung Galaxy PLUS GT I9001 to XXKG3 Gingerbread 2.3.3 Firmware [How To]

After the huge success of Samsung Galaxy S in the market Samsung has launched another Smartphone with more faster processing speed that is Samsung Galaxy PLUS GT I9001.  And now you can update Samsung galaxy plus with latest version of gingerbread 2.3.3. The phone comes not only with better processing speed but it also come along with good battery backup of 1650mAh. This update of gingerbread 2.3.3 is a beta release and dubbed as XXKG3 and this update cant be processed with KIES but you have to manually update it. All you need to do is follow the below steps carefully.Remember that updating this firmware will neither root your phone and nor will void the warranty.

Pre requisites: -

• First you have to make up all the back up of your data stored in the mobile because while updating this firmware all your data get lost.
• It is better to move all your data like images, videos, audios, sms and contacts to the external memory card so it will be safe and not get corrupted.

• Also note down the settings of APN as well as MMS settings because it will also gets erased. To note down the settings Go to Applications >Settings> Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.
• Ensure that your mobile have at least 90% battery back up so that it will not interrupt the updating process.
• You must have all the drivers installed in your computer which includes KIES and the recent version of .net framework.
• Close all the firewalls,Antivirus and KIES so that it will not interrupt the firmware process.
• Most important remember that this update is only applied to Samsung galaxy plus GT I9001, please do not try this on any other device because it might corrupt or your device may brick.

For Custom ROM users: -

If you have already installed the custom ROM on your device, we will make you aware that while using ROM many components gets installed in the phone so you have to remove them and for that you have to enter in the recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up key + home button and along with both the keys press the power button ,Select wipe data/factory reset and then choose wipe cache partition. Next you have to reboot your mobile by selecting reboot system now after selecting the former option. This will delete all the cache files and now you can safely proceed further.

Steps to Update Samsung Galaxy PLUS GT I9001 to XXKG3 Gingerbread 2.3.3 Firmware: -

• First of all download Gingerbread XXKG3 Zip file in your pc and unzip the zip folder. Save it on the desktop so that it will be easy to process.
• Open the odin flash tool from the extracted folder and turn off your phone.
• Now you need to enter into the download mode by pressing Volume down key + Ok button and along with both the keys press the power button.
• Connect your phone with pc/laptop using the USB data cable and now after few minutes you can see that ID:COM block in the odin will turn into yellow which means all the drivers have been successfully installed.
• Do not click on the re-partition and click on the ‘PDA’ and select the file “I9001XXKG3_I9001XXKG3_I9001PRTKH1_HOME” .
• Click on start in the Odin flash tool and it will update the firmware, after few minutes your phone will restart that means you have successfully finished your update process.
• Now again you have to enter into recovery mode; press the Volume Up key + home button and along with both the keys press the power button,now choose wipe data/factory reset and then choose wipe cache partition and then you have to reboot your mobile by selecting reboot system now after selecting the former option.
