How to re-lock Boot loader in Sony ericsson X-Series Device

For all the mobile users who have connected the newest version of custom firmwares and if one is confused with the mobile device, we will determine how to re lock the boot loader in order that one may claim the warranty from Sony Ericsson.

The devices wherein this unlocking the boot loader has to be applied on are the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini Pro, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and Sony Ericsson X8 phones.

Always remember that this procedure is only valid for phone users that are on either on the firmwares that are beta released and on the custom ROM firmwares. Additionally, this method of relocking the boot loader will lock the mobile device again and then one will access the network that the phone was originally locked into.

Before going on further one has to be sure that the mobile phone is charge in the minimum of seventy five percent battery in order to be sure that the device will not turned off in the boot loader process. After charging the phone one has to make up the backing up of present data in one’s device.

*Data or information which one needs to backup are the following, the contact, SMS and other data like settings of APN that are traditionally stored in the mobile device. To make it simpler for all users wherein one may quickly create the data backup are:

SMS – Just use SMS backup & Restore App

Contacts- Gmail ApplicationSync

Call log- Restore and Call log

Images, Songs, Videos, Files- Copy to internal/ External SD card,

APN and MMS Setting – Note down from the path Applications Settings_Wireless and Network_ Mobile Networks_ Access Point Names

-         Be sure that one will take off the Sim card, memory card if any from one’s mobile device until the firmware is upgraded, after the firmware gets upgraded well then one can then put back the sim card and the memory cards.

Procedure to relock the Bootloader ofSony Ericsson X10 Mini, X10 Mini pro & X8:

-         Before we go on one will first download the files for the individual devices just like the list below:

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 or W8

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro (U20)

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini (E10)

After one has loaded the above files in one’s computer, one will load the SI Tool form here to one’s computer and have to extract the same into the desktop.

Then, next one installs and downloads the flash tool. Take note that the flash tool must be used and downloaded, when one has already has the flash tool installed in one’s PC then be sure that it has the version number as 0.2.9.1 or else this will not recognize the sustaining files. Please note the 0.3.0.0 will not be supporting it.

  • After one is finished with the installation of the Flash tool from the above link, one will proceed to open the ‘Drivers’ folder that is there inside it. After this one must press the ‘ggsetup’ -2.2.0.10 .exe’ file to open it and then install the Gordon’s gate. Take note that this flash tool and the Gordon’s gate installation is returned if one has installed it already.
  • The just turn off the phone and lunch the SI Tool .exe file which one have installed and downloaded in one’s PC from
  • the above link.
  • Then just press on the ‘Restore’ button and then one connects the device in the computer using the US cable that one has gotten at the time of purchase in the flash mode which can be achieved by holding and pressing the back button while connecting into the PC.
  • After this process is done one will find that the phone will be restarting. This will take around five to ten minutes to finish.

To check, one opens the s 1 tool.exe and press on the ‘identify’ button and turn off the phone and connect it in the flash mode to the PC that may be done by ‘pressing and holding back button when one connects to the phone and to the PC and one be able to find the LED in one’s phone turn green’. Then one will continue to hold the back button until there is some output at the screen and follow the instruction on screen to configure the device in the standard settings.

So now one has now successfully relocked the boot loader of the Sony Ericsson family phones and can claim back the warranty.
