Update Vodafone Galaxy S GT I9000 to Gingerbread BUJVB 2.3.3 Firmware [How to]

The Vodafone Galaxy S GT I9000, as you know, is one of the best Android based smart phones that you can find in the market. The phone has every great feature that you can expect from a smart phone. The entire operating experience can be improved with updating it with Gingerbread BUJVB 2.3.3. Let me guide you through the entire procedure. 

Thing to make sure of before updating

  • Having a back up for your phone is very important before you try to update it with Gingerbread BUJVB 2.3.3. Copy all the files to the Memory card and remove it from the phone. Synchronize the contacts with Google sync and back up the messages using proper tools. The internet and other settings should be copied somewhere and then re-input after updating the phone. When the backing up is completed, remove the memory card and the SIM card from your phone and keep them safely.

  • You need to get your Vodafone Galaxy S GT I9000 into download mode. For that, turn off your phone and then turn on again while holding the Volume Down button and the Home key together.
  • Run Odin in your computer from the extracted files. Connect the phone to the PC with USB cable and you will find Odin indicating it with a yellow box. It will show that the phone is added
  • Find the button on Odin that says PDA. Click it and it will ask you for the Gingerbread BUJVB 2.3.3 updating file. Brows and locate a file named JVK_JV4_JVO.tar from the extracted files. Add this file to Odin.
  • Click Start button after adding this file. This will start the updating of the OS in your phone. This must not take more than 10 minutes.
  • The phone will restart on its own. When the phone restarts, it will ask you for the language choice and your Google account information. Input them and the phone will start. Go to the recovery mode and clear cache of the previous OS.
  • Restart your Vodafone Galaxy S GT I9000 once again and when it starts it will have the updated Gingerbread BUJVB 2.3.3 OS. Now you can use the phone with more flexibility.
