How to Install CM9 on Motorola Milestone XT720

The frenzy to taste ice cream sandwich is rising frequently and covering more device every day. Where the ics is yet not launched for every android device, most users are fulfilling their wish from ever popular AOPS roms and more specifically CyanogenMod9. And more over there are developers who are releasing unofficial CM-derived roms for the devices that have not yet already received the official Cyanogen mod by the CM Team. Same is the case with Motorola Milestone XT720, XDA forum member mchlbenner has decided to try and give the ics treat for the owners of milestone XT720 devices. The chance to taste ics or almost ics is something that most users want. And at very least , it gives people a chance to have ics features on their devices without OEM skins getting in the way.

However the rom is still in its alpha/early beta stages and comes with some basic functionality but not enough for the device to use it daily. For instance, device sensors, texts, GPS and call making ability is working fine and at the same time some basic features like Camera, Video and tethering are having some kinks. There are some download links given in the post, so ensure that you got the right package to fix the problems that are not yet rolled in the rom, but eventually get there.
