Samsung Galaxy Xcover- So tough that you can be rough

Samsung Galaxy Xcover  has lately been unveiled by Samsung electronics, an addition to Galaxy series. The phone is made keeping in mind the care free users who keep dropping their phones mistakenly, fail to take good care of them and handle them quite roughly.

This rugged Smartphone is resistant to dirt, shock and water. It claims that it works perfectly well even after it is submerged in water for half an hour up to 1 meter of depth and can withstand shocks which means no more worries if you drop it accidently. It is based on not a very new concept. Xcover series’ another model Xcover 271 is certified by IP54 standard which means it is resistant against shock, splash and dust. This phone is IP67 standard certified and would challenge already existing Motorola Defy which is IP67 certified too. This certification itself proves that both the phones are water and dirt resistant.

It has Android2.3 Gingerbread loaded in it and has 150MB internal and 32GB expandable memory with Micro SD card. It has 3.6 inches big capacitive touch screen with HVGA display. The screen is of scratch resistant tempered glass. It has 3.2 mega pixel cameras with LED flash which doubles up as a torch and has 150mAh Lithium ion battery. It offers wireless connectivity through Wi-Fi and 3G with HSDPA (transfer rate of up to 7.2mbps) plus features 3G. The phone does not have any functionality from outside unlike the other Samsung models. Some other details are:

Many a times it happens that when you are outside and suddenly it rains, the first thing it comes to your mind is protection of your electronic devices. With this phone you do not need to worry about rains and unpredictable change in weather because not to forget Samsung Galaxy Xcover is splash, dust and water resistant. Its launch could be somewhere in October in Germany and the price is not out yet. It is estimated that the price would be around $350USD.
