How to Root LG Optimus 3D running on V20x Gingerbread

Rooting a device for first time is obviously exciting for some users. As we all know rooting is the only way by which you can access all your system files and customize your android device in the way you want to. But whenever new OS or the updates releases for devices, root access is lost and rooting a device again for the new firmware may take time and may be tough to do. Unfortunately same thing happens with LG Optimus 3D when V20x firmware updated for it. But luckily xda member darkoctavius has posted a method to root LG Optimus 3D for those users who has lost the root access after the firmware update.

The thing that is to be noted that the rooting method only works with the V20x version, and those running on V21 or later are out of luck this time. The developer has given us the .bat file which means the file is only compatible with the Windows PC this time.

Before the instructions you should take some precautions and Androidxpert will not be responsible for any damage cause to your device. You should be aware that rooting your device will void the warranty. So follow the process on your own risk.

Pre-requisites:-

  1. It is always advisable to make a back up of your data, such as music, contacts, important messages and everything else stored in your phone memory before rooting your device.

  3. Make sure that you have already enabled the USB debugging mode. If not you can do the same by following “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”
  4. Ensure that your device have at-least 75% of battery life so that it will not interrupt you during the process.
  5. Android SDK with ADB Drivers should be installed properly.

Instructions on How to Root LG Optimus 3D running on V20x Gingerbread

  1. In order to root LG Optimus 3D running on V20x Gingerbread, yo have to download a file from here.
  2. Extract the folder you have downloaded above and connect your device with the Windows PC via USB Cable.
  3. Now you have to run the .bat file in USB debugging enabled device.
  4. Press enter to root your device and wait for the process to be completed.
  5. Your device will be reboot and that’s it.
