Install the Villain ROM in the Galaxy Nexus (How To)

Do you own a Samsung smartphone? Then you must install custom ROM’s on it, and you must have heard about this Villain ROM. This is one of the custom ROMs that really ring a bell in many people’s ears, specifically when referring to custom ROMs for the Samsung handsets. The developers of this Villain ROM have  have made a distinct name for them, particularly with their works that they have done in custom ROM for the popular Samsung devices like the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy S.

Around this time, the developers of ROM have set their own eyes in the new target; the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the fiery thing from Samsung right now. Currently, the ROM developers have just issued the version VillainROM 1.1. This current ROM is designed for the Galaxy Nexus and is consolidated along the open code source of Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 (branch android-4.0.1_rl.2 (ITL41F) along the Open Source Project Repository Android) and rather than this StockROM in the Galaxy Nexus.

  • Option REBOOT added to power menu
  • RECOVERY option (reboot) added to  menu power
  • Screensavers from Android, very accessible through Settings>Display –‘Dreams’ enabled.
  • Minimal dalvik heap begin size to 16mb by testing performance increased
  • Live Wallpaper defaults
  • Much more faster than the stock
  • Defaults to Great Britain –English built
  • Zip-aligned all the APKs and optimized png
  • Working Flashlight LED  app included
  • VillainROM bootanimation New

Requirements:

This Galaxy nexus is just great with the ICS, but the VillainROM runs an extra mile with the ICS with the addition of interesting and extra features. When you wish to replace this stock ICS in your own Galaxy Nexus having VillainROM (that is practically ICS still) then you may easily do so by just following these instructions at the rest of this guide. However, first, there are some requirements to be made:

  • Your own Galaxy Nexus need to be rooted.
  • Your Galaxy Nexus also must have the Recovery ClockworkMod installed.
  • Must back up your own phone settings and data.
  • Must follow these instructions in your own risk and do not let us be responsible for any damage that may arise along the use of the information on this guide.

Instructions for Installation:

Just follow these instructions carefully so to have a successful installation of this customROM. When you are not sure regarding these things, then it is advisable for you not to go on further, but get somebody having the experience in this thing to help you really out.

How to install the release of VillainROM 1.1 into your own Galaxy Nexus:

  • You must download the VillainROM then save this into your own computer. You must download its full ROM from here.
  • Then you must connect your own phone into your computer with the use of a USB cable and then copy this file ROM into the root of the SD Card of your phone.
  • And you must disconnect your own phone along the computer.
  • Then you must also turn off your own phone
  • In the Recovery mode your phone must be rebooted.
  • Create a non-Android backup at the Recovery Mode
  • ‘Wipe factory/data reset’ must be selected
  • Wipe cache’must also be selected
  • Wipe dalvik cache’ on the Advanced menu must be selected
  • Return into the main recovery menu
  • Then Choose zip along the sdcard and then ‘Install zip along the sdcard’ must be selected also.
  • Then navigate to the place that the ROM file is located in your own SD card. Choose the ROM file so that to start flashing this in to your own device.
  • If the flashing is done, then reboot your device too.

Congratulations to you! Your own Galaxy Nexus is now running the VillainROM release 1.1 based in the Ice Cream Sandwich.
