How to Update LG Optimus GT 540 with Android 2.1 Éclair Firmware

The LG Optimus GT 540 is a great Android OS based smart phone. It has many features that you will surely like. The OS of the phone can easily be updated to the latest version of Android OS 2.1 Éclair. The new update has some great apps and features that will surely double the fun of using this phone. Before you go with the process of updating the phone, it’s important that you follow some instructions. If the process goes wrong then you may end up harming your phone. Make sure that you have the exact model of the phone. Keep the battery fully charged and remove your memory card. It’s always better to remove your SIM too. Once all that is done go with the update by following the steps that I am giving you.  

• The updating will clear all your files. You must make sure that you back up all your important data from the phone. Take not of the internet settings as you will have to re set it manually once the updating is done.
• LG Optimus GT 540 allows you to back up all the apps that you have in the phone memory. For that, go to tools and select app back up option. You will have to select the apps one by one. Once you do that, the files will be backed up.
• You must know one thing that once you update the Android OS version, you cannot turn back to the older version ever again. So make sure that you really want the updating.
• LG released the support tool for you which is the update of your phone’s OS.  Download and install it.
• The latest version of USB driver is also required. Download it. Once it’s downloaded, click on it and follow the instructions to install the program. It will be installed in no time.
• After the driver is installed, connect your LG Optimus GT 540 with the PC you are working on by connecting the USB cable. It will enable the phone to be worked with from the PC.
• When you connect the LG Optimus GT 540 to your PC, you will see that a new window pops up in front of you. You will find a button saying Start Updating. Click on that to start the process.
• The new window will appear in front of you. Find the Analysis button and then click it to start the procedure for updating the phone.
• Now from the new window, that appears, click the Download button. it will download all the important updates that are necessary.
• As soon it’s finished, you will find the button for updating. Click the Update button and the LG Optimus GT 540 will be updated.
• The updating of Android OS is completed of your LG Optimus GT 540. Insert you SIM and memory card in the phone and restart the phone once. Restore the apps that you have backed up before. The entire process is completed now.
