How To Install Android on HP TouchPad – Complete Guide

Sort the Files

  • After the downloading all the important files, attach your TouchPad into your Pc through the cable micro USB and place it in the mode “USB Drive,” and so it will display a removable drive storage.
  • Feed to this drive and make a new folder called “cminstall” (with no quotes) and copy the files “update_cm_7.1.0_tenderloin_a2.1_fullofbugs zip,” “update_cwm_tenderloin_1012.zip,” “moboot_0.3.3 zip,” and “gapps_gb_20110828_signed .zip” in this folder.
  • When these are done copying, then remove the TouchPad- but do not remove the cable yet.

Lastly, extricate the ACMEInstaller ZIP file contents and there must be two files in there –into a new folder in your system.
Install Android

  • The next step you have to reboot the TouchPad in a special mode of debugging. You must hold the device button power to switch it off, then switch on back again while doling down the button ďż˝?Volume Up’.
    Just after a few seconds, you will find a white bright USB logo which means it is in the mode of USB boot, and you can release the button �?Volume up”.
  • Then open the PC terminal window- on Mac OS X or Linux, and this is known as ďż˝?Terminal’ and on Windows a “Command Prompt”, then you browse the folder where you have downloaded the files of ACMEInstaller.
  • Finally check that the file ACMEInstaller is in the folder then execute the command: novacom boot mem://>ACMEInstaller.

This will let Novacom to move the file ACMEInstaller in the memory of TouchPad and execute it, which will drive off the installation process of Android

Waiting:

The text that is flying on the screen is the installation process that involves resizing the internal memory divisions to provide room for Android.

Keep your eyes on the screen but do not worry if the system pauses for some minutes here. If the screen has not gone away for ten minutes, it is time to worry; you must check if there are errors in the messages and see if anyone else has had the problem also.

Rebooting:

  • When the process of installation is finished, the touchpad will reboot and now you have the use of the most powerful Android tablet.

The Android CyanogenMod model based on the Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread is rooted which means that it has great extra facilities above the common Android installation.It also means that you can install tools also like the SetCPU that permits to overclock the TouchPad CPU from its 1.2GHz default as high as 1.7 GHz.
