How to Root Acer Iconia A100 on ICS Android 4.0

There was a need of perfect and easy rooting procedure after the ICS Android 4.0 has updated for Acer Iconia Tab A100. The developers has taken a while to update the process, but now its here so that we can enjoy our device truly and entirely. Some devices receive their rooting process before they ever launch and now mainstream devices like Acer Iconia A100 has received its one click root utility. The utility allow the functions like read/write permission.The script is supported on both windows and mac.The users have achieved root without any issue on their device and the developer has found no errors while testing.

In the due course of article we will be discussing the procedure to apply this root on Acer Iconia A100. Before moving on to the instructions please be informed that after rooting your device, the warranty will get void but you can get it back by applying the original firmware update by Acer. Pre-requisites:-

  1. The root will only work when your Acer Iconia A100 is running on Ice Cream Sandwich, so make it sure before rooting.
  2. There are always chances of losing the data while rooting or updating any firmware, so it is advisable to move all your data from phone memory.   3. Make sure that device has minimum 50% battery life so that it should not interrupt the rooting process.
  4. Ensure that you have disabled  the Security Suites, Firewall Tools along with the PC tools as these software’s can interrupt your updating process.
  5. Enabled the USB debugging mode by following “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”.

Instructions to Root Acer Iconia A100 on ICS Android 4.0

  1. Download the rooting package.
  2. Extract the files from the folder and connect your device to your PC via USB Cable, make sure USB is Enabled.
  3. Select the files:- for Windows –
    runit-win.bat
    and for Linux –
    runit-linux.sh
  4. Once you have select the file, rooting process will start and after it completes, you will be updated about the same.
  5. After the process is completed you have to install SuperUser APK and Titanium Backup programs.
